Heraldry
The emblem of the Banda Municipal de Machico takes as central pictorial figure the coat of arms of the Municipality of Machico, constituted by “shield of blue, with a band of silver, watered of the field, between two canes of green sugar”, on which the golden lira of five strings (kinnor). The mural crown of five silver towers – which represents a city-based municipality – and the coat of arms of the municipality of Machico are still, with significant changes, the emblem of the institution: at the top, a golden mural crown of five towers and, base, golden listel, with the specific denomination of the institution “BANDA MUNICIPAL DE MACHICO” to black.
