Biography:
Aquilino Silva da Silva was born in Venezuela 29 of January of 1967. In the footsteps of his father, interpreter of Banda Recreio Camponês, Aquilino Silva initiated His musical studies with his cousin Hermínia Gonçalves, clarinetist in that philharmonic. He received the usual solfege and trumpet lessons from Maestro João Figueira Quintal, continuing this training with Maurício Quintal and Sergeant João Gomes. In 1979, he enrolled at the Conservatory of Music of Madeira, followed trumpet lessons with Manuel Rosa and trains with Maria Augusta Perestrelo. He finished the conservatory course in 1988-1989. During and after the end of their training at the conservatory, Aquilino Silva was the first Sunday of the classical wood orchestra trumpet, and it continued again until 1999. served as trumpet performer 1979-1989 in the Banda Recreio Camponês, and from 1985 to 1988, in the carnival troupe Caneca Furada.

After finishing his musical training at the Conservatory, Aquilino Silva joined the Escola Secundária Horacio Bento de Gouveia as a music teacher also teaching as he was proeminente in teaching specialized music. He began his activity as a teacher’s instrument of nozzles, having taught in the former Office of Arts Education (now Arts Education and Multimedia Services Branch) and the Madeira Conservatory of Music (now Conservatory). – School of Music Arts of Madeira, Eng Luiz Peter Clode) between 1999 and 2007.
Beginning of his extraordinary powers as a composer and arranger (result of the circulation of various arrangements and issues to prepare for Banda Recreio Campones and other regional philharmonic), as well as his considered ability to lead various musical groups, just before the end of his training at the Conservatory, Aquilino Domingo de Silva took the artistic direction of several Madeira musical groupings. He was orchestrator and founder of Light Orchestra leader of Madeira, having played there a remarkable artistic activity between 1988 and 1991, back this impulse to madeirense musical milieu between 1997 and 1999 and played in the same fruitful work Pestana Casino Big Band. He was conductor, from 1989 to 1995, of the Banda Distrital do Funchal. Directed the musical section of the troop cup Stuck between 1989 and 1993 and between 1995 and 2009. He was member and artistic director and trumpet trustee, between 1993 and 2003, the Dixieland 8 Fun Dixie and is, since 2008, artistic director and trumpet player of substitute Black & White Dixieland Jazz Band. He is, since this last year, chief of the Banda Municipal do Funchal.

Your artistic work has been as fruitful (or more) marked in the constitution and artistic direction of musical groups housed in regional art institutions, since then conducted for about 25 years a large number of young instrumentalists of Madeira coups: 1991- 1999, Aquilino Silva took the artistic direction of the new Wind Orchestra of the former Arts Education Coordination Office (Current Directorate of Arts and Multimedia Education Services [DSEAM]); From 1999 to 2007, he founded and directed the Wind Orchestra, the Big Band, the Dixieland Jazz Band and the Swing Band of the Conservatory – Madeira School of Arts, the engineer Luiz Peter Clode. Despite the different constraints imposed on them last year, which dictated the pernicious extinction of the groups under his direction, Aquilino Domingo da Silva founded and directed a rock band with students from other instrumental families, composed of the singer , electric guitar, synthesizer, electric bass and percussion, has also realized in recent years, from 2012 to 2016, the artistic direction of the DSEAM Wind Orchestra.

Aquilino Domingo da Silva has collaborated since 2008 in the project of musical transcription of the popular reference of the Music and Cultural Association of Xarabanda in Madeira, having been seconded to this important scientific enterprise.
Aquilino Silva is, since 2010, the School of Masters of the Polytechnic Institute of Education Setúbal, having completed the thesis “A improvisação do Blues and Sala de Aula” under the direction of Prof. Dr. José Carlos Godinho.
