Biography:
Son of Manuel Sílvio de Brito and Rosa Maria Correia Marques, Sílvio Eduardo Marques de Brito was born in Porto Santo on June 16, 1981.
He began his musical training at 11 years old in the Banda Musical da Casa do Povo de Nossa Senhora da Piedade do Porto Santo, as a clarinet apprentice, with Sergeant-chief (at that time Sergeant-Adj) João Gomes de Sousa, and in 1995 began to learn alto saxophone. At the age of 15 he began to play tenor saxophone and at the same time he he began his piano lessons with Professor Márcio Jardim at the Casa do Povo do Porto Santo.
His Professional training includes the 12th year Technological Computer Science.

In 2000 he did his first Piano Bar work at the Madeira Regency Club, and until 2002 he worked in piano / cocktail bar at several Funchal hotels such as Hotel Girassol, Hotel Quinta do Sol, Hotel Enotel Lido Madeira and Savoy Palace, among others. He joined the Portuguese Armed Forces in 2003, where he served in the Military Band of Madeira as a saxophone performer.

In 2006 he joined the Banda Orquestral de Câmara de Lobos “Os Infantes” as a keyboard player. In 2007 he competed for the Army Sergeants Training Course, having successfully completed it in 2009. That same year he returned to the Madeira Military Band as Second Sergeant Saxophonist.

His artistic training includes the 3rd Degree of Musical Education, the 2nd Degree of Saxophone and the 1st Degree of Piano of the Conservatory of Arts of Madeira. He composed several anniversaries commemorating birthdays of various institutions and wrote over one hundred arrangements of musical themes, with or without a voice / choir, for various groupings such as Concert Band, Big Band, Metal Quintet, Clarinet Quartet, Saxophone Quartet and others less common groups.
He is currently the First Sergeant Musician and performer of the saxophone in the Military Band of Madeira and, since 2013, Artistic Director and regent of the Banda Orquestral de Câmara de Lobos “Os Infantes”.
