Biography:
Son of Manuel Pita Custódio and Maria Fátima Moura Carriço Natural Salvador of Évora, Rui Miguel Salvador Pita was born in Évora on May 13, 1986. He owes his love of music to his grandfather, José Maria Pita, who performed the clarinet .
At the age of 8, Rui Miguel Salvador Pita began his musical studies, in the Banda Filarmónica Redondense, joining the same philharmonic at the age of 9 years.
He completed the professional music course at Évora Vocational School in 2004. In 2004, he joined the army symphony band.
He attended a masterclass clarinet with Alberto Lages, Nelson Caetano, Etienne Lamaison (clarinet diploma at the National Conservatory of Music of Paris) and Filipe Dias and in 2008, he attended another masterclass of Direction Wind Orchestra with Carlos Marques and conductor Eduardo Brito (Head of the Banda da Polícia de Segurança Pública).
He attended the first year of the University of Évora, in the artistic field, in the clarinet instrument, continuing the course at the Instituto Piaget de Almada, which ended in 2012.
He was the counselor of the Sociedade Filarmónica Redondense School of Music in 2008 and in 2010 also became deputy chief of this band, the positions he held until 2013. he worked as a music teacher in the primary schools of the district of Évora.
Since 2014, he has been artistic director of Banda Filarmónica do Caniço e Eiras.
